General AI information

How modern models generate their outputs

Most modern AI tools are language or generation models. They learn statistical patterns from very large collections of text or images, then predict what should come next, whether that is a word, a pixel, or a line of code. The result can read as fluent and confident even when it is wrong.

That gap defines the limits. A model has no direct access to the world, cannot verify facts on its own unless connected to a source, and may reflect gaps or biases in its training data. Knowing this helps you decide which tasks benefit from a draft and which need careful human review.

Responsible use

Verify, protect, and credit before you publish

Treat every AI output as a draft. Check facts against primary sources, look for bias or missing perspectives, and never paste private or confidential information into a tool without understanding how that data is stored. When AI helps shape published work, say so and credit the sources you relied on.
